U160 Survey of the Bible: Course Description
This course provides a big picture overview of the Bible’s central narrative, from creation to the establishment of the early Church. It is designed for students seeking a foundational understanding of the key themes, figures, and events that shape Christian thought and history. The course will trace God’s redemptive plan through major covenants and prophetic promises, examining how these ancient narratives culminate in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We will explore the Bible not as a collection of isolated stories, but as a unified account of God’s relationship with humanity, culminating in the establishment of the Church and a vision of ultimate victory. This course also will not provide details for every book but additional biblical survey courses will do so.
